Hello everyone!

Thursday, we unfortunately did not have yoga!

The youngest class has created reindeer for Christmas (but shhhhuttt is a surprise).

There are new scooters and other surprises for us.

Christopher made Christmas photos of all the classes, individually and in groups, and Cécile started to tell the history of the history of France (and yes, as we tell a story).

The children of Julia’s class worked on Asia. They sang in French and English, and started a calendar of Advent in class: every day a child is drawn to receive an image illustrating Christmas. Carlota brought a cake. An attention dictated by his own draw of the calendar of the advent: the calendar of kindness and politeness.

In the class of Laura and Isabella, they made a group in French on the Christmas story, worked on the Christmas vocabulary: Christmas is sharing and being close to those we love or who are alone. The children have also done a great job in English on animals that are getting ready and are already hibernating. They made games with pictures and secret manual work (ssshhhutttt …). Throughout the week, they shared original fruits brought by the parents.

Next week Olivier comes back to teach us how to take care of the school garden.

First lotto games, in Delphine’s class, to reuse the vocabulary.

Discussions about the family (brother, sister, dad, mom). Words to find your way

in the space. The politeness phrases of every day. In Laura’s class

and Isabella the children learned at Maori dance called Hakka, new

Zealand. They also discovered the footprints of the forest animals

each took a leaf and put there a trace of his foot. Tasting of persimmon (fruit

from the persimmon tree) brought by Nolan. The children of Julia’s class

Jessica continued to discover Asia through her culture, landscapes, wildlife

flora. They also enjoyed a persimmon. They did manual arts and realized

fan origami (china) and cherry blossoms (japan) with a poem in

English. They made autumn trees with Indian ink blown

of a straw with a haiku, Japanese poem. They also celebrated the birthday

Charlie who was 5 years old. They learned about autumn in English.

In Cecile’s class, Christopher and Ioanna, we had the sadness to say

goodbye to Emilie and Lucie who have returned to live in Argentina. We hope

have news of them very soon. I leave you. See you next week!

I will start my article with Laura and Isabella’s class. This week Ruby brought back to papaya from Cameroon and the whole class was able to taste it. Maxime celebrated his 5 years. The children made by Isabella Clifford Possum and worked on this culture. They also experimented with clementine peels, inserted oil, wicked it and let it dry, then read it was beautiful. Julia and Jessica’s class made a cake. All the children participated. They started working on the discovery of Asia. They also had a little ballad and leaves the leaves they had picked up. This week, we were at tree climbing Rueil. It was very cold but we still loved it!Kayla, Mathis, Charlotte, Sara, and I saw a doe, after spending the morning in the trees, and picnicking outside, there was an orienteering race around the trees. And the little class of Delphine and Marie-Emmanuelle began to discover the animals of the farm.

(the whole school has come together to celebrate our roots by planting a tree in the garden that will flourish and grow like children)

Friday, November 16, 2018

This week we did gardening workshops with Olivier.
3-6 years old, small bulbs are planted in the big bins in front of the school.
One of the groups of 6-12 years old planted a mega bulb, the mega bulb is a kind of big, even huge, seed in a kind of bud that we plant in the earth.
Then, yesterday, Thursday, Olivier showed the whole school, even at 2-3 years, how to plant a tree, and after we made pictures of all around the tree.
(Unfortunately, Smaug is not in the photos … it’s too cold for him outside).
Later, Olivier made an arrangement with stones that he found while digging the hole for the tree and sowed grass all around the tree. We should see it grow in 2 to 3 weeks.

Just to ask: Do you have food for Smaug? he would need: green cabbage, dandelions, lettuce novel, kale and mustard leaves
Thanks in advance !!!

And a last thing about 6-12 years …
The rally poetry has your child learn a poetry a week, one in French or one in English! (do not forget they are on the school’s website).

Here is this report is … Finished !!!!!

This week we are celebrating Halloween at school. When we arrived on Monday, everything was covered with cobwebs and huge spiders and invaded by many other monsters. Today, we’ve had a lot to do in the past, and we’ve been doing it for a short film session in English (Hotel Transilvanie 3) for 6-12 years, then a photo shoot and of course a succulent snack! We also had the visit of American nephews and nieces of Cecile, Fernando (10 years old) and Charli (11 years old). They spent the day with us.

This week we tried new games for recreation. Ping pong tables, twisters ect. We set up rocks for “Smaug” (our bearded dragon) so he can climb.

Lucie, journaliste (11ans)
